Teachers come into the profession to make a difference. Yet every class has children with different needs and circumstances. Those needs can turn into daily challenges for teachers who simply want to teach. That stress doesn’t stay at school. It reaches pupils in the classroom and follows teachers home into their private lives. When staff are stretched thin, calm is hard to find and the classroom can feel like a ticking time bomb. Is this something you and your staff are facing?

The most useful thing in a dysregulated classroom is a calm, steady adult.
When teachers learn simple techniques to manage stress in the moment, at school and at home, their working lives become easier. Instead of a ticking time bomb, the classroom becomes a calm learning oasis, and the working day feels very different.

In one practical session, your staff will:

  • Centre themselves in one minute. A quick practice to steady the nervous system before a lesson, in a tense moment, or at the end of a long day.
  • Spot stress early. Recognise the first signs of their own stress response, so they can stay calm when things go wrong.
  • De-escalate with confidence. Stay steady in tense moments and calm low-level disruption before it grows.
  • Build resilience. Turn stressful situations into confidence and resilience.
The session is hands-on, not a lecture, and nothing in it adds to anyone’s workload.

Calm is catching. When everyone who works with children, from the classroom to the office, shares the same simple tools, children meet steady adults wherever they go in school.

This workshop is a taster of BEARS, a self-regulation technique I devised that works in under one minute.

BEARS gives teachers a simple way to support anxious and dysregulated children, whose distress often shows up as low-level disruption. It starts from the same place as this workshop, with the adult’s and the child’s own calm. It helps children take ownership of their responses and builds everyday resilience in the classroom.

I’m Priti, a child behaviour specialist. I have been working with children aged 7 to 12, (particularly those whose behaviour is driven by anxiety), parents and teachers since 2017. I’ve seen how much a calm, confident adult can change a child’s day, and how much support teachers need to be that adult.

Yes, but only for a little while so don’t miss out! There will be a charge of £249 from mid-January 2027 onwards.

Yes. I deliver the workshop at your school, at a time that suits you.

Up to 10 staff can attend one workshop – this keeps it more effective as it is filled with practical techniques.

The full workshop runs for 2.5 hours, so it fits best into an INSET day or an extended twilight.

I am based in Coventry and am willing to travel up to 25 miles either way to deliver it for free until mid-January 2027, or happy to deliver it for a small charge (£249.00) if it’s any further than that.
