Neurodiversity in the Coaching Space

Spiky Profiles, Brilliant Outcomes

Practical training for coaches who want to work confidently and respectfully with autistic, ADHD, dyslexic and otherwise neurodivergent clients, adapting how you coach so every mind can thrive.

3 day Training programme for Coaches, Therapists and, NLP Practitioners and anyone coaching neurodivergent people

INTRODUCTION
Around one in seven people are neurodivergent, which means some of your clients already are, whether theyโ€™ve told you or not.
Many coaching models were built around neurotypical ways of thinking. Open-ended questions, long silences, eye contact, rigid goal-setting and โ€œjust try harderโ€ accountability can leave neurodivergent clients feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or like theyโ€™ve failed again.
This course helps you change that. Youโ€™ll learn how different brains process information, emotion and motivation, and how to adapt your coaching so it works with your clientโ€™s wiring instead of against it.

WHO ITโ€™S FOR
โ€ข Coaches (life, executive, career, wellbeing, parent) who want to work inclusively
โ€ข NLP practitioners who want to apply their skills with neurodivergent clients
โ€ข Coaches who are neurodivergent themselves and want to bring that insight into their practice
โ€ข Teachers, SENCOs, mentors and HR professionals who use a coaching approach
โ€ข Parent coaches supporting families of neurodivergent children
No specialist background is needed, just an open mind and a wish to do this well.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL LEARN
By the end of the course you will be able to:
โ€ข Understand neurodiversity, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and more, through a strengths-based lens
โ€ข Recognise how differences in processing, communication, sensory needs and executive function show up in sessions
โ€ข Adapt your questions, pacing and structure so clients can think and respond in their own way
โ€ข Create a sensory-friendly, psychologically safe coaching environment, in person and online
โ€ข Work with overwhelm, shutdown, masking and burnout with understanding rather than judgement
โ€ข Rethink goal-setting and accountability for clients who struggle with traditional approaches
โ€ข Help clients recognise and build on their strengths
โ€ข Understand where coaching ends and when to signpost to other support

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to know about neurodiversity already?
No. We start with the foundations and build from there.
Will this teach me to diagnose clients?
No. Coaches donโ€™t diagnose. Youโ€™ll learn to recognise possible differences, adapt your approach, and know when and how to signpost.
Is this course relevant if my clients donโ€™t have a diagnosis?
Yes. Many neurodivergent adults are undiagnosed, and the adaptations youโ€™ll learn make coaching better for everyone.
Iโ€™m neurodivergent myself. Is this course for me?
Absolutely. The course is designed to be accessible, and your own experience will add real value to the group.
Is the course accessible?

Looking for an easy to follow and implement step by step coaching program specifically for children and young people? Here it is!

No more trialling this or that, take the guess work out and apply a solid ten session program. Made for coaches, counsellors, therapists, NLP Practitioners and other individual mental health professionals.

Children; any child aged 8 to 18 years.

The program focuses on behavior change through internal language, changing focus, and reframing challenges. It is very common for children to not want to talk much ,or even be unable to express their problems.

This is where the techniques and strategies in the BEARS Technique Plus Program can help the child to move on and start dealing with their unique challenges.

This program includes the BEARS training as above but is much more in-depth and allows for deeper one to one connection with children and sessions – facilitating rapport, trust, growth and progress.

These are the topics that we cover.

  • How the brain works and processes information โ€“ what is going on under the lid and why we respond the way we do to external factors
  • How we can use that knowledge to help ourselves to be in control
  • Emotions โ€“ understanding and accepting them and how mastering them can change everything
  • Understanding fear, stress, and anxiety โ€“ knowledge is power
  • Understanding our belief systems โ€“ removing negative self-limiting beliefs
  • How language affects our behaviours – using the best language to change our feelings and actions
  • Communicating effectively so others will listen
  • Changing the focus and direction of our thoughts and actions for better outcomes
  • Using the imagination to build resilience and confidence
  • Using better mental images to change our feelings and behaviours
  • Reframing challenges by changing perspectives
  • Staying in the present moment to feel stronger
  • Goal Setting for children and young people
